Fernando received his medical degree in Peru. After moving to the United States her spent time doing basic and translational research at the Diabetes and Obesity Center for Excellence at the University of Washington in Seattle. Later he relocated to San Francisco to join the clinical research team in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UCSF. Fernando is passionate about medicine, direct patient care, teaching and contributing to research that will improve population health outcomes in the future. He is honored to be part of the research team at UCSF and proud to contribute to the important work of improving women's health and eliminating preventable diseases.

Ron is a recent graduate from the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he received a degree of Master of Public Health in Epidemiology. Before he came to the United States, he obtained his medical degree from Harbin Medical University in China. He recently moved to the Bay Area and started working at UCSF. He is very ecited about having a career at UCSF. He likes to spend his free time traveling around the world and exploring the Bay Area.

Maritza Cárdenas is a recent graduate from the University of California, Berkeley where she received a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology and a minor in Creative Writing. Maritza is passionate about serving under-resourced and disadvantaged communities, which she plans to do in a medical capacity as a future nurse practitioner. She likes to spend her free time running, reading a book or writing poetry at cozy coffee shops.
